UNique Wisconsin painting

Aaron Bohrod, A Wisconsin Medley, 1974, oil on board, appraised at Antiques Roadshow for $25,000. (Insurance value $40,000.) Bohrod, who was known for painting without evident brush strokes, illustrates all the facets of Wisconsin in the painting: the dairy industry, sporting, “Fighting Bob” La Follette, the state’s bird, tree, and flower, and many more details. The artist’s reflection can even be seen in the football of the Bucky Badger trophy. The painting was commissioned in 1974 for the United Bank & Trust in Osseo, Wisconsin. The owner says he purchased the painting just a couple weeks prior to the appraisal event.
