LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Members of the Antique Advertising Association of America (AAAA) are planning an annual convention July 16-18 in Louisville, Ky. This will be the first time that members of The Nabisco Club will join AAAA members during their annual event.
The convention is for collectors of antique and popular advertising and will include members from across the U.S. and Canada. The public is invited to attend the convention free to learn about the club and to room hop with members ONLY from 2-5:30, and again from 7-9, on July 17 at the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza in Louisville.
The AAAA is the oldest organization dedicated to collectors of antique and popular advertising. According to AAAA president Dale Larson, the convention program will include plenty of opportunities for attendees to buy, sell or trade for those special hard-to-find collectible advertising pieces.
Highlights of the convention include several educational seminars, two auctions, a favorite advertising room display of members special pieces, a hospitality party, meals and a banquet.
Conventioneers are encouraged to begin the festivities with pre-convention outings to The Schmidt Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia in Elizabethtown, Ky., the Schimpff’s Confectionery Store and Museum in Jeffersonville, Ind., or a visit to enjoy some local collectors’ homes.
“AAAA members are really enthusiastic about this year’s convention,“ says Larson. “Their excitement reflects the continuing growth in the hobby and a chance to meet new member collectors and renew old friendships.”
Attendees must be AAAA members. Dues are $35 per year, U.S., $45 Canadian, and $55 foreign. Membership includes PastTimes, a full color newsletter published four times per year.
