Collecting clubs, societies ready for 2011 activities

Md. — Antiques and collectibles collecting clubs and societies are making plans earlier than
usual for their 2011 shows and conventions. The
Association of Collecting Clubs
(ACC) already has well over 500 club
events posted on their Club-Sponsored Events

According to Larry Krug, ACC co-founder, the club-Sponsored Events Calendar is the only calendar on
the web dedicated to club events across the
entire spectrum of collecting. No matter if its an auto club, a glass
club, a gem & mineral club, a coin club, a doll
club or a postcard club, events can be listed.

“Collectors who enjoy going to antique malls, shows, auctions
or flea markets should also consider some of these club specialty
Krug says. “All club shows are open to the public and have very nominal
entrance fees, or free admission. Although some of the collecting clubs bill their conventions as
“members-only” they often have portions of the convention open to the
public, or the public can pay for membership at the registration desk.”

For specific information on collecting clubs, visit the ACC Club Directory which provides information on over 6,000 collecting clubs.
