Europe by Design, a custom group tour organizer based in Indianapolis, Ind., announces their partnership with David Barby, FRICS for their International Antiques Festival from Oct. 23-Nov. 3, 2008.

The International Antiques Festival will include stops in London, visiting such sights at Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Covent Garden Market, St. Martin in the Fields, Ardingly Antiques Fair, Detling Antiques Fair, workshops, master classes and appraisals with Barby. The group will also attend auctions, car boot sales and flea markets and many other outstanding antiques shopping venues.

Barby’s interest in antiques started when he was just 12 years old. He was one of the youngest, at 21, to qualify by examination to the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers. He has worked in Rugby, London and Royal Leamington Spa as an auctioneer, valuer and manager, becoming a partner and head of the Fine Art Department there. Barby is very well known in England for appearances on Bargain Hunt and Flog It since 2000, where his fellow experts call him “The Master” due to his immense knowledge. Barby was one of the experts on 20th Century Roadshow. He started his own firm, David J. Barby FRICS and Associates in early 2003 offering a nationwide professional appraisal and auction service. He shares his vast knowledge, and great passion for antiques, all over the UK and the Continent. “I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful tour. I look forward to spending time with my fellow antiques enthusiasts from the States,” Barby said.
