CHICAGO – On Dec. 7 Leslie Hindman Auctioneers celebrated an important milestone as it moved to its new location at 1338 West Lake Street in Chicago’s West Loop.
Highlighted by an immense Leslie Hindman Auctioneers’ logo, the new headquarters boasts 30,000 square feet featuring a dedicated auction room, three spacious exhibition rooms, a drive-in receiving area, attractive executive offices and conference rooms, plentiful storage facilities and an 8,000 square foot parking lot across the street.
Founded in 1982, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers quickly became one of the Midwest’s largest full service auction houses specializing in fine art, furniture and decorative arts, fine jewelry and timepieces, fine books and manuscripts, Asian, rugs, and vintage couture and accessories. After selling the auction house to Sotheby’s in 1997, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers re-opened in 2003 to fill the enormous demand for a major auction house Chicago.
“We have experienced tremendous growth since reopening in 2003,” said Leslie Hindman. “We now have 40 employees and are anticipating $20 million in sales in 2008. We are indeed fortunate and look forward to another terrific year.”
