Schackmann, Inc., of Effingham, Ill., has canceled it’s highly anticipated Jan. 29 Coca-Cola auction. The company, which handles many large estates and personal property auctions each year, said the decision to cancel the Teutopolis, Ill., sale was due to circumstances beyond the company’s control.
Another major antiques and collectibles sale is scheduled April 9. This one features early country grocery/drug store with soda fountain and gas station collectibles and vintage advertising. According to the company, the auction is a time capsule: composed of a retail store that was closed in the 1960s. The doors were locked and everything was left inside – untouched.
