This scarce Kuba Komet combination stereo and television was made in Germany, circa 1960. Its modernistic two color wood cabinet features a rotating top housing a 21-inch television.
The lower cabinet has a pull down door revealing a Kuba international band radio with short wave, Imperial record turn table, Telefunken tape recorder and eight speakers, all rising on splayed square tapered legs.
Although the set doesn’t work, a bidder paid $3,250 during an Aug. 28, 2011 estate sale held by Austin Auction Gallery. Bidding opened at $800.
