CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Steiff, the creators of the original Teddy Bear, opened its flagship Steiff Gallery in America August 5 at Simon’s Atrium Mall in Chestnut Hill, Mass. On hand to cut the ribbon was Winthrop Roosevelt, great-great grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt, for whom the teddy bear is named, and Friedrich Löhr, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Boston.
“It is our goal to make this store a wonderful destination and introduce STEIFF to a whole new generation,” says Jim Pitocco, President of STEIFF North America.
From antelopes to zebras, Steiff has been making internationally-famous stuffed animals since 1880. The Teddy bears and plush animals are handmade using traditional manufacturing techniques – for the ultimate in quality and safety. ?
