Stella’s Modern Show to be held in Midtown Manhattan

The Modern Show, Stella Show Management Co.’s successful 20th century art and design event, has found a new home in Manhattan.

Featuring 70 exhibitors, The Modern Show will take place Oct. 16-18, offering customers unique, trend-setting art, furnishings, silver, glass and jewelry from the Art Deco period through the 1980s.

Held every fall, this year the show will take place in 7 W New York, a new venue at 7 West 34th Street, just off Fifth Avenue, opposite the Empire State Building. The building features many floors of showrooms with home accents and decorative accessories. 7 W New York is operated by Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. who now also manage Piers 92/94 on the Hudson River.

“We are very excited about this new opportunity, and so are our exhibitors” says Dorothy Stella, President of Stella Show Management Company. “When we were told the 69th Regiment Armory is not available to us in October because of a major military drill, we knew we had to find a new home for The Modern Show. We have been talking with MMPI about having shows at 7 W for awhile; we feel the midtown venue will work well for this show. We are confident The Modern Show customers will find it easy to get to and very comfortable to shop.”

Located in the heart of Manhattan, 7 W New York is across from the Empire State Building, down the street from Macy’s and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and stores, subway stations and Penn Station.

The Modern Show is part of a busy fall schedule for Stella Shows. It is followed by the enormously popular Pier Antiques Show Nov. 14-15 on Pier 94 in NYC, and preceded by the colorful Country Living Fair in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 18-20.

Stella offers two great events during Antiques Week in New York 2010. Jan. 22-24 are the dates for Antiques at the Armory in the 69th Regiment Armory in Gramercy Park, and Jan. 23-24 marks the return of Americana & Antiques @ the Pier on Pier 92 on Manhattan’s west side. The Pier Antiques Show returns on March 13-14. The Stellas are very happy that the Chicago Botanic Garden Antiques & Garden Fair will once again take place. The 2010 dates are April 16-18.
