A grouping of Hawaii “state” survey maps found a new home for a final bid of $800 against a presale estimate of $275 to $375 at Old World Auctions Feb. 16, 2011.
The territory surveys, touted as “an exceptional set of large, brightly colored maps” in A+ condition, included Hawaii (1901, 31 inches by 26 inches), Kauai (1903, 34 inches by 24 inches), Maui (1903, 52.3 inches by 43.3 inches), and Oahu (1902, 33 inches by 27 inches).
Auction 136 will be
online about May 18, 2011.
