The White Ironstone China Association (WICA), a not-for-profit organization devoted to the study of English and American 19th century white ironstone china is promoting new membership just in time for its 14th National Convention, May 1-4, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-Hershey in Grantville, Pa.
By joining WICA during March or April, new member benefits will include: Membership through May 2009, attendance at the 2008 and 2009 national conventions with payment of convention registration fees, a free copy of WICA’s publication White Ironstone Teapots, an Identification Guide, referencing more than 200 19th century teapot body styles, an educationally-oriented quarterly newsletter, WICA Shoppe access to purchase reference materials, yearly WICA Membership Directory.
All WICA members are invited to join the fun when national convention festivities kick-off on Thursday, May 1, with “Hershey – The Sweetest Place on Earth.” The Hershey Trolley will provide transportation during this eight-hour tour, which includes admissions to Hershey attractions, a chocolate tasting, and dinner exclusively for WICA members.
Tour cost is $51 per person.
The convention officially opens Friday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. and closes Sunday, May 4, at 10:30 a.m. The $90 registration fee includes three meals and allows members to attend a variety of educational programs and participate in WICA’s auction, flea market, spare parts swap, show and sale, and raffle.

To join, visit the WICA Web site, click on "Join WICA." Then print, complete, and mail the membership form along with a check for $30 payable to WICA, Inc., to WICA Membership Committee, P.O. Box 6052, Chesterfield, Missouri 63006-6052.
Prospective members who do not have Internet access may send a card with their name, address, city, state, zip code, and phone number along with the $30 check to the above address. A convention packet will be sent to each new member household.
