Williamsburg’s Holiday Antiques Show returns Nov. 26

WILLIAMSBURG, Va, – The 29th annual Holiday Antiques Show returns Nov. 26-28 to the Kingsmill Marriott, 50 Kingsmill Road, Williamsburg, Va. Antiques dealers from 13 states and England are scheduled to attend.

Bettianne Sweeney.jpg“Williamsburg is fortunate to be host to such an outstanding group of vendors,” show promoter Bettianne Sweeney said. “Most travel all over the country participating in antiques shows and fairs. They journey from Maine to Texas and from South Carolina to Tennessee.” Among those are Swan Tavern from Yorktown, Va. and Elinor Penna from Garden City, NY.

Sweeney says this year’s show will feature some new dealers with a focus on antiques for investment. “It should appeal to new collectors who would like to incorporate something of value along with artistic merit to decorate their homes which are more modern in style.”

New to this year’s show is Dave White of Maine with a collection of nautical antiques and Victoria Brock from England and Amanda Harman from America, co-owners of Fanshawe Blaine.

In addition to the show there will be an appraisal clinic held on Sunday with the proceeds to be donated to a charitable cause. Gordon Converse will conduct the Sunday appraisal clinic. The cost for the appraisal this year will be $10 per item. A reservation will be necessary and can be made by calling 757-220-1299.

The Holiday Antiques Show is a favorite for area residents and appeals to many who visit the Historic Triangle area during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

Exhibitors display a wide array of merchandise including estate jewelry and silver, small trinkets suitable for gift giving, oriental carpets, paintings, clocks and furniture both period and country.
