As one of the top antiques shows in the country, the Theta Charity Antiques Show will feature more than 50 premiere dealers from around the world at The Grand Tour, the 56th Annual Theta Charity Antiques Show. This year’s show will take place from Thursday, September 18, through Sunday, September 21, 2008, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hall A. Since its inception in 1952, the Theta Charity Antiques Show has brought together world renowned dealers who sell the finest antiques and decorative arts from the 17th through the 20th centuries.
The Theta Charity Antiques Show of Houston raises funds for local educational, arts, medical, and community assistance organizations while providing a cultural experience for the city of Houston and surrounding areas. Beneficiaries of the Theta Charity Antiques Show include Texas Children’s Cancer Center, Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, Child Advocates Inc., Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, Boys & Girls Harbor, The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston, The Brookwood Community and The Seniors Place.
September 18-21 will truly be Antiques Week in Houston, as the Theta Charity Antiques Show of Houston coincides with the HADA (Houston Antiques Dealers Association) fall show. These two shows will offer, at the George R. Brown, more than 200 well known dealers specializing in furniture, paintings, jewelry and accessories. Whether the shopper is a beginning collector, a seasoned antiquing veteran, or someone who loves to look at beautiful antiques for pleasure, he or she will find wonderful examples of the unusual and the rare from the last 200 years.
The Theta Charity Antiques Show is a 501(c)(3) organization. Funds from the show are obtained solely through underwriting, advertising sales and the sale of tickets and not from the sale of antiques displayed at the show.
