The evening of Jan. 15 saw a diverse assembly of guests at the Preview Party for the 27th Annual Palm Beach Winter Antiques Show. The evening set the tone for the three day run of the show where interior decorators, antique collectors, committee members and animal lovers mingled together while browsing and shopping the floor for quality antiques. The well-established show again was held at the Crown Plaza, Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. The theme of the show, All About Antiques Part Two, was a salute to last year’s success and again produced by Zita Waters Bell.
Bell comments, “Due to the economy, everyone at the show felt they were in another world; excited, upbeat and positive. The traffic was only slightly off from other years and if the sales were not like previous years, the sales were good and showed no pattern. Paintings were popular and were sold, as well as much interest and sales in furniture, while The Silver Fund was all smiles.
“What was unique this year was that the crowds were much younger but they were knowledgeable and interested. They commented on the comfortable atmosphere where they could meet, talk and work with the dealers.”
Plans for the 2010 show, Jan. 15-17 are going forward with a preview on the Jan. 14 and most of the dealers stated that they would return.
The show is under the management of Zita Waters Bell. For information call or write Box 88067, Boca Raton, Florida, 33433. Phone 561-483-4047.
