WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. – Betty Boop collectors and fans are converging on central Wisconsin for the first Betty Boop Festival Wisconsin, Aug. 5-8.
Why Wisconsin Rapids? The town was the birthplace of Grim Natwick, top original animator of Betty Boop for Fleischer Studios. Featured attractions include a series of talks with Denise Hagopian, director of the California Betty Boop Festival, Aug. 5.
On Aug. 6, a crowd will dedcate a marker honoring Natwick at the South Wood County Historical Museum. A tour of the Natwick and Boop exhibit at the museum will be led by Hollywood International Animation Society director Stephen Worth.
The Arts and Collectibles show opens Aug. 7. Registration for vendors is available on the festival website, www.BettyBoopFestivalWi.com. ?
