California Country Antique Show features Candle Power Exhibit

California Country Antique American Country & Folk Art Show will be held in Los Altos, Calif., on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Featured at this show will be primarily American country and folk art antiques from the 17th-19th centuries including: country to formal furniture, folk art, quilts, hooked rugs, samplers, lighting, woodenware, baskets, stoneware, architectural and garden elements, camp and cottage, toys, holiday items, lots of old original paint and more. The show will be held inside and out of the Hillview Community Center at 97 Hillview Avenue in Los Altos, Calif.

“Candle Power” is the featured exhibit at this show. Long before electricity, and the associated energy issues we’re faced with today, candles were a primary method of lighting. From the 17th to late 19th centuries, the exhibit will show examples of candle holders, candle molds, early tallow candles, candle sticks and candle boxes.
