The 34th annual fall Fox Valley Antiques & Decorative Arts show will be held in St. Charles, Ill., Oct. 18-19, 2008.
It is time for change, we are told, by both political parties. The Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association invite you to vote for change by rejecting new mass-produced, poorly-made imports. Choose antiques for your home that have already been family-tested for quality and craftsmanship.
Election year is the theme for this show. Authentic, centuries-old antique furnishings of every shape and size, including patriotic items, will be offered at the semi-annual Fox Valley Antiques Show, produced by the Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association. Attendees are invited to attend the free educational 5-Minute Schools taking place throughout the weekend. Join their expert dealers for this entertaining series of mini lectures. Saturday’s topics will be American Artist, Rockwell Kent, in a Nutshell; Hooked Rugs; and Collecting Halloween. Sunday’s lineup is “Revolutionary War Era Clothing and Antique Jewelry.
The fall show features 55 dealers from 14 states. The quality and authenticity that the Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers is known for has not changed, but their building has! This will be their inaugural show in the new, bright, and spacious fairgrounds facility adjacent to the old building with plenty of free parking. Catered lunch with comfortable seating is available.
Show hours are Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m, at the Kane County Fairgrounds, St. Charles, Ill. For more information visit www.csada.com or call 815-838-0606. Admission of $8 benefits local historical and educational organizations.
