ST PAUL, Minn. – Antique shows all over the United States are seeing an increase in the number of attendees as the popularity of antique treasures continues to grow. Not only are people looking for beautiful pieces to decorate their homes, but many collectors turn to quality antiques as an alternative investment in difficult economic times. The 5th annual Minnesota Antiques Dealers Association Show and Sale will offer shoppers and collectors an exceptional opportunity to enjoy fine antiques.
The 2009 show will include 45 MADA dealers offering quality merchandise. Dealers will be selling a wide range of merchandise: furniture from period pieces to country, art, silver, fine and vintage jewelry, glass, pottery, decorative arts, early Americana, Asian, mid-century modern, textiles, Scandinavian country, garden relics, and more.
The Minnesota Antiques Dealers Association Show and Sale will feature a number of special events. Demonstrations on gilding and art and frame restoration will be offered by Master Framers of St. Paul. A vintage clothing display featuring items ranging from Victorian to modern will be part of the event, courtesy of Donna Denny of Country Charm Antiques. Additionally, Peggy Kouri and Barbara Schneider of Melrose Antiques will also display their unique vintage clothing collection. On Saturday, June 6, between 11 a.m. and noon, AM 740 WDGY Radio will have a live remote at the fairgrounds featuring interviews with dealers from the show.
