Don Orwig and Gerry Nagel of Willowrush Promotions Inc. announced that the Missouri Heritage Antique Show will make its rejuvenated debut June 17-18 in St. Louis under their direction. To be held at the popular Greensfelder Recreation Complex in Queeny Park on the west side of St. Louis, the event will benefit the St. Louis PBS station KETC.
A wine and cheese preview of the show will be held June 16. With more than 40,000 viewers to antiques-related programming on PBS in the greater St. Louis area, the event is a “win-win” for both entities, according to Nagel and Orwig.
“We feel this relationship will provide tremendous media exposure for our dealers,” Orwig said in a recent interview with Antique Review editor, Linda Kunkel.
With the capacity to accommodate 70 dealers, the partners are committed to offering a show featuring the finest American country antiques available in the marketplace.
Orwig and Nagel, both longtime antiques dealers from Indiana, formed their partnership in 1989 with the promotion of a show for the Tri Kappa Sorority in Auburn, Ind. They have since added six shows in the Midwest, with the most recent venture in Overland Park, Kan.
Many groups have sought the pair for their services and expertise in show promotion, and friends had encouraged them to launch a return of a country show in St. Louis. This spring, Gerry will retire from teaching, and the duo decided the time was right to expand their business.
