DALLAS – A Style-D Bride of Frankenstein one-sheet movie poster sold for $334,600 at the Nov. 13 sale conducted by Heritage Auction Galleries. Prices include a buyer’s premium of 19.5 percent. The auction totaled just over $2.6 million for 1,335 lots.
A Son of Frankenstein half-sheet brought $89,625, and a Dracula title card realized $65,725. A rare one-sheet for Baby Face (starring Barbara Stanwyck) brought $71,700, a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 40-inch by 60-inch poster fetched $65,725, and the three-sheet to Mary Pickford’s The Pride of the Clan brought $53,775. A one-sheet for the classic noir film This Gun for Hire sold for $47,800.
Other highlights included: Scarface (United Artists, 1932), one-sheet, $33,460; Things to Come (United Artists, 1936), one-sheet, $32,862; The War of the Worlds (Paramount, 1953), half-sheet, $26,290; Gold Diggers of 1933 (Warner Brothers, 1933), one-sheet, $23,900; The Raven (Universal, 1935), title lobby card, $23,900; and The Wolf Man (Universal, 1941), half-sheet, $23,900.
