Cabinets reach $18,400 at Kaminski auction

LYNNFIELD, Mass. – A pair of 18th-century Italian burlwood cabinets sold for $18,400 at Kaminski Auctions’ annual Thanksgiving sale, held Nov. 25. All prices reflect a 15 percent buyer’s premium.

Pearls 12-26iss.jpgThe eclectic, multi-estate sale also saw a South Sea pearl necklace, with 27 graduated pearls measuring from 14 to 17 millimeters, realize $12,650.

An early 20th-century Louis Vuitton wardrobe trunk, estimated at $1,200, reach $8,050. A Stickley oak Morris chair realized $5,750,

A pair of 19th-century silver cups marked J.B. Akin, Danville, KY more than doubled the high estimate of $600, realizing $1,610.

A pair of 18th-century English silver candlesticks from John Hyatt & Charles Semore of London (1759-1760) saw a final price of $4,600.

A painting by Carle J. Blenner (1865-1952) brought $3,450. Blenner, predominantly known as a portrait artist, inscribed his painting, Cabinets 12-26iss.jpgThe Sea, To Miss Southwick, referring to the consignor’s grandmother and the previous subject of one of Blenner’s portraits.
