Hermes bags featured in Leslie Hindman’s Dec. 2 couture sale

CHICAGO – The Dec. 2, 2007 sale of vintage couture and accessories scheduled by Leslie Hindman Auctioneers featured a rainbow-like collection of Hermes bags. Expected highlights include:

An Hermes Brique leather Birkin bag (named after British-born actress and singer Jane Birkin, born 1946), made in 2000, in a Taurillon Clemence leather, with gold hardware, lock key and sheath, blind stamp D. Stamped Hermes/Paris, estimate $4,000-$6,000.

An Hermes magenta suede Birkin bag, made in 2004, with palladium hardware, lock key and sheath, blind stamp H. Stamped Hermes/Paris, unused, estimate $6,000-$8,000.

An Hermes crocodile Kelly bag, 1998, with gold hardware, detachable shoulder strap, lock key and sheath, blind stamp B. Stamped Hermes/Paris, estimate $7,500-$8,500.
