Huge guitar collection on the block at Red Baron, Feb. 23

Red Baron is gearing up for its Feb. 23-24, 2008 auction in the capital of the South.

AA458 AT 2-20.jpgThe sale will feature a large array of collectibles, antiquities, classic and vintage automobiles, and out of the ordinary, fantastic objects to ever cross the Baron’s block. Gracing the center ring of this circus-like extravaganza will be a private collection of 74 guitars all autographed by the most influential artists in Rock & Roll and Country Music, as well as a 1966 Jaguar XJ13, some impressive garden statuary, and a full movie set from Turner Classic Movies.

AC4213 AT 2-20.jpgThe guitar collection boasts names such as Travis Tritt, Loretta Lynn, Charley Pride, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis and more.

The 1966 Jaguar XJ13 speaks for itself with looks alone that could kill. The car was recreated in the 1990s, taking seven years to handcraft with all vintage Jag parts. It will also be possible to take a blast back to the 1940s with the set inspired by Edward Hopper’s “Nighthawks” painting and taken from the TCM studio. It was used in the movie Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Previews begin the week of Feb. 18 and continue through to a Preview Party for registered bidders the evening of Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, with the auction commencing at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday morning and continuing to 9 p.m.
