Ken Leach to direct perfume bottles auction

The International Perfume Bottle Association (IPBA) introduces Ken Leach as the director and organizer of the annual auction of perfume bottles held in conjunction with its convention.

Leach is an internationally recognized perfume bottle specialist and author of Perfume Presentation – 100 Years of Artistry. He is an experienced auction director in four countries, a returning judge of the annual Fragrance Foundation Recognition Awards, and the recipient of the IPBA Honors of the Association for the year 2000.

Leach is a pioneer in perfume bottle collecting. In 1985 he established Gallery 47, a perfume bottle shop in Manhattan, where the constantly changing examples on display serve as a source of inspiration for glass companies, package designers and celebrity perfumers, before ultimately entering the collections of perfume bottle enthusiasts around the globe.

The Perfume Bottles Auction is the only auction in the United States dedicated solely to perfume bottles and related items. Variety is a key element of the auction which will offer items in numerous perfume bottle categories and at all levels so there will be something for everyone.

IPBA is also to announce that the auctioneer will be Nicholas Dawes, well known from his appearances on the Antiques Roadshow.

This year’s auction will be held at the Albuquerque Hotel at Old Towne, 800 Rio Grande Blvd, N.W., Albuquerque, N.M. For more information, e-mail ken@perfumebottlesauction.com.
