Oct. 5 estate auction at Michaan’s will feature fine art, jewelry, and decorative arts

Michaan’s Auctions is pleased to offer a wonderful selection of property from multiple estates and private collections across the United States.  This 800-lot auction will showcase lots from California artists, paintings and sculptures, Russian porcelain and decorative arts, European furnishings, American Folk Art, Japanese and Chinese Works of art from the 18th and late 19th century, silver and jewelry. The auction will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in Alameda, Calif.

Leroy Neiman, American b. 1921. “Night in Paris” Serigraph. 28 3/4 by 41 inches. Signed: Leroy Neiman. (estimate $400-$600); 

Louis Icart, French (1888-1950). "Eve." Hand-colored etching. Oval: 13 1/8 by 18 1/2 inches. Signed in margin: Louis Icart. (estimate $1,200-$1,500);

Nell Walker Warner Californian (1891-1970) Still Life of Yellow Flowers. Watercolor on paper. Sight size: 8 1/2 by 23 1/8 inches. Signed lower right: Nell Walker Warner. (estimate $1,500-$2,000);

Tiffany Favrile Tel Amarna Vase (repaired crack to foot) (estimate $1,000-$1,500);

American Folk Art Flower Basket Quilt, one of several from the collection of an Ohio family (estimate $400-$600).
 
The October Estate Catalog will be available for review on line at www.michaans.com.  Previews will open Oct. 3-5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. until the day of sale, 9 a.m. until end of auction Sunday, Oct. 5.

Michaan’s Auction by the Bay’s next Estate Auction will be held Sunday, Nov. 2 at noon. All offerings will be available for viewing at the free public preview held Friday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., as well as the day of the sale from 9 a.m. to the end of the auction.
