Rare dimes leading Las Vegas event

LINCROFT, NJ – Legend Rare Coin Auctions is prepping for a momentous Regency Auction VIII event being held during the PCGS Members Only Show at The Venetian/The Palazzo in Las Vegas. This sale boasts 232 lots and some of collector Bob Simpson’s most sought after sets and collections. The auction will be preceded by two days of lot viewing, with live bidding beginning on July 17 at 5 p.m. PT.

Long-time Legend customer Bob Simpson is cleaning house and has chosen Legend Rare Coin Auctions to sell his extras and duplicates. Even as duplicates, The Simpson Proof Seated Dime Collection rivals any ever built. The star of the offered collection is the 10C 1876-CC PCGS SP66+ BM CAC. Other highlights of the collection include:

  • 10C 1840 No Drapery PCGS PR64 CAC Ex Eliasberg
  • 10C 1842 PCGS PR65 CAC
  • 10C 1860 PCGS PR68 CAMEO CAC
  • 10C 1889 PCGS PR67+ CAMEO CAC

The Simpson 1856-1859 Matched Original Proof Set Collection is a world-class numismatic treasure. Each set was purchased directly from the Mint and remained with the same family until 2000. This is the first time these sets have ever been publicly offered. LRCA partner Laura Sperber claims that “even if you aren’t planning to bid on them, you should make every effort to see them in person. They’re that special.”

The 232-lot sale is live on the Legend Rare Coin Auctions website, www.legendauctions.com, with the auction commencing at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, June 17 in the Delfino #4003 room of The Venetian/The Palazzo, 3255 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas.
