WINDSOR, Conn. – Despite the cold and a snow storm on New Year’s morning, Nadeau’s still filled its gallery with buyers for an array of items culled from many estates and homes for its New Year’s Day sale.
The top lots in decorative accessories included a fine Tiffany leaded glass dragonfly shade on gilt bronze floor lamp, which brought $115,000 (including 15 percent buyer’s premium), a Tiffany table lamp with geometric shade at $51,750, a Wilhelm Hunt Diederich, bronze jockey on horseback at $34,500, and a Wilhelm Hunt Diederich wrought iron floor lamp $60,375.

The top lot in jewelry included a Tiffany & Co. platinum and diamond ring, 2.18cts, that fetched $27,025.
Fur nature also drew strong prices with rare Alexander Roux center table standing firm at $23,000, and an Allen Brother’s walnut display cabinet bringing $9,200.
Fine art was a significant draw with a Frederick Mulhaupt oil on board, of Rockport Harbor, drawing $46,000, and a Rodin watercolor bringing $9,200.
Nadeau’s holds Saturday auctions every three weeks and has another major sale coming up in March.
