Fine Art Kicks off 1,000-Plus Lot Auction
The sale begins with an ample selection of oil and watercolor paintings, lithographs, mirrors, frames, painted game boards, trade signs, and weathervanes, among others. Plus, a large selection of American furniture will follow. A couple mid-century modern tub chairs are among the contemporary pieces up for bid, and a selection of hanging cupboards, tea tables and blanket chests will appeal to those with an affinity for the classic Pennsylvania style.
Furthermore, the bulk of this sale is comprised of a near endless selection of Americana smalls. Bentwood boxes, redware platters, stoneware pitchers and crocks, cast iron door stops and painted decoys are all pegged to cross the auction block. Furthermore, a collection of Native American and Inuit art will complement this sale. Inuit carved bone figures, Native American pottery, baskets and beaded items are all represented among the lots on offer. In addition, anyone with an affinity for beautiful and wearable art will find the selection of Native American silver and turquoise jewelry particularly compelling.
Bronzes and Boxes to Baskets and Beaded Art
Bidders with more niche or specific interests will find the smattering of antique toys or the numerous militaria-related items appealing. Collectors of silver and pewter will be eager to place their bids, as will collectors of fine 18th century samplers.
From silk to silver, from toleware to redware, June’s auction has a little something for every collector – novice or expert.
