This strange, but mesmerizing, early milk-painted wood and glass Serpent side table, sold for $9,000 at Rago Arts and Auction Center‘s Modern Auction held Oct. 3, 2010.
It dates to the late 1970s-early 1980s and is one of the earliest wood tables made by Judy Kensley McKie. This, along with others, served as a prototype for subsequent tables cast in bronze. It is unmarked and stands 21 1/2 inches tall by 22 inches in diameter.
