Fancy pink diamond may soar to $90K at fine jewelry sale

CINCINNATI — More than 500 lots of fine jewelry and timepieces will be offered Dec. 8 during auction at Cowan’s Auctions. Among the signed and unsigned jewelry, handbags, timepieces are items from iconic makers including Tiffany & Co., Patek Philippe, Cartier, Vacheron & Constantin.

Expected headliners of the sale, which begins at 12 pm ET, include a G.I.A. Certified

Natural Fancy Pink Diamond weighing .66 carats and estimated at $75,000 to $90,000, a ladies 7.5 carat Platinum Engagement Ring, which carries a presale estimate of $65,000 to $85,000, a Ladies Platinum and Diamond 18 carat Brooch made for and once owned by Marge Schott of the Cincinnati Reds is pegged to fetch $35,000 to $50,000., while a another piece from Schott’s collection, a Platinum Brooch, is expected to bring anywhere between $15,000 and $25,000.

Rings, bracelets and timepieces are also expected to perform well in the auction. Feature items include a:

• Ladies Platinum Blue Star Sapphire Ring ($12,000-$15,000)

• Ladies Platinum 12 Carat Total Weight Diamond Bracelet ($9,000-$12,000)

• Marcus & Co. 18 Karat Theatre Ring Depicting Comedy and Tragedy ($8,000-$10,000)

• David Yurman 18 Karat Yellow Gold “Thoroughbred” Wristwatch ($10,000-$15,0000)

• Patek Philippe 18 Karat Yellow Gold Wristwatch ($5,000-$8,000)

Additional notable lots that will hit the auction block on December 8th include a Stefan Hafner Swan Collection Black and White Diamond Necklace estimated at $10,000 to $15,000, a Harry Winston 18 Karat Diamond and Sapphire Articulated Bracelet is expected to bring $12,000 to $15,000, and an E. Howard 18 Karat Solid Gold Pocket Watch is estimated at between $6,000 to $7,000.
