WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The only surviving traditional antiques show in Southern Florida will open its doors Jan. 21-23, 2011.
The show will take place at the Crowne Plaza, 1601 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach and the entire hotel from the lobby to the ballroom, will become one big, dazzling antiques fair. The show is “traditional” in the sense there are no gimmicks or special events but only solid, vetted pieces with a touch of vintage from more than 50 national and international dealers, according to promoter Zita Waters Bell.
Orville Bulman’s “Gross Papa (Big daddy),” 1963, is offered by Deborah & Edward Pollack Fine Art of Palm Beach, Fla.
There are many who have exhibited and sold their merchandise at this annual show for the past 20 years. Included in the list of constant dealers are JesseDavis Antiques from London with china and pottery; Kanner of South Florida with vintage jewelry; King Art from Milwaukee with fine paintings; McDonnough Fine Art of Atlanta; Nula Thanhauser from East Hampton, Pa., with a large assortment of vintage handbags and Renata Metelska Fine Art of Hobe Sound, Fla.
A regular exhibitor has also been the fun-filled Vintage Poster Art from New York and, also from New York, Zane Moss Antiques with worldwide exotic pieces. Also exhibiting is The Silver Vault and Chestnut Galleries from Spartenburg, S.C., with handsome furniture.
Locally, for the first time, the Edward & Deborah Pollack Fine Art gallery on Worth Avenue, Palm Beach, Fla., will be arriving with an outstanding collection of paintings by American artists Laura Woodward, Orville Bulman (shown above) and Lucile Blanch.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Jan. 21 and 22 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 23. Admission is $15 and includes repeat admission. For information, call 561-483-4047 or visit promoter Zita Waters Bell‘s website.
