A huge antique auction will be held at the Shelby Co. Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Ky., on Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. There also will be an auction preview starting at 11:30 a.m.
The auction will loaded with all kinds of antiques and collectibles including desirable glassware and pottery such as Fenton, cut glass, Roseville, Depression, Heisey, Nippon, R.S. Prussia, Jadeite and more. Also on offer are several sets of Franciscan china with glasses.
A partial auction bill includes: perfume bottles, biscuit jars, candy containers, a wash bowl set, cookie jars, a large Heisey punch bowl set, a preserve stand, beer steins, glass baskets, hand painted plates and bowls (signed), antique costume jewelry, purses, and handbags.
There will be toys such as Road Roller (mint condition) by D.G.M. US zoned Germany and a 1950s child’s riding tractor, Derby glass, old fishing lures, rods and reels, and an antique alligator suitcase.
The clocks category includes a banjo clock and pieces from Sessions, Seth Thomas (mantel clock), Waterbury (wall clock) and more.
Advertising pieces including a 1948 International Harvester chrome bear and an antique Lollipop 1-cent drug store scale in great condition.
Quilts, linens, a linen coverlet, and also some very nice dolls will find new homes, as well as mirrors and framed print examples, such as “Lofty View,” “Alaskan Autumn,” “Cougar Cub,” “Harlan’s Hawk,” and many others.
Rounding out the offerings is a fine parlor set and other antique furniture, cast iron bookends, Griswold skillets, sterling and coin silver, crocks and jugs. Of special interest are a brass and marble National cash register and several rifles that will cross the auction block.
