MIAMI – U.S. Antique Shows announces they will be hosting the Third Annual Jewelry History Series prior to the start of The Original Miami Beach Antique Show on Jan. 28. The jewelry conference, Jan. 26-27, will consist of educational sessions from notable jewelry speakers, as well as a special screening of the award-winning documentary, Sharing The Rough.
The documentary captures the never-before-seen process of mine to market in the fine gem industry, including the relationships and passion that make jewelry more than just pretty stones. At the conclusion of Day One, series attendees will take a trip to the local movie theater, Cinematheque, for a private screening of the film followed by a Q&A with Director Orin Mazzoni.
“Sharing The Rough is a story that weaves together all aspects of the love of jewelry and the process of mine to market. The beauty of this film is that everything you see is 100 percent organic and in true documentary style. There was no script,” says Mazzoni. “Jewelry and gems have been a part of my life since I was a young boy. My grandfather was a watchmaker and my father owns two jewelry retail stores in which I worked for 10 years as a graduate gemologist and certified gemologist appraiser. It gives me great pride to be able to share my passion of both film and jewelry with attendees of the Jewelry History Series.”

Series attendees will also be among the first to see The Original Miami Beach Antique Show before it opens with a tour of select jewelry exhibitor booths on Day Two of the conference. During this tour, attendees will preview the pieces available for purchase.
