‘March in Montana’ celebrating Western art and antiques

 

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Manitou Galleries of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Santa Fe, N.M. and The Coeur D’Alene Art Auction are preparing for the 27th annual March In Montana Fine Art and Collectibles Auction and Dealer Show, March 20-22.

With a history of record-breaking sales, the event will be held in Great Falls, Mont. in

conjunction with “Russell Week.” The “Russell Week” celebrates the work and impact of the 19th century Western artist Charles M. Russell, who created more than 4,000 pieces of artwork during his career.

The show, which will feature antiques, antique firearms, books, Cowboy and Indian collectibles, artwork and sculptures from around the country, is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. March 20-22. In addition, there will be a two-day auction that will include fine Western art and sculpture, historic and contemporary art and Cowboy and Indian collectibles. The sale begins March 21st at 1:00 p.m. MST and noon on March 22nd at the Town House Inn, 1411 10th Ave South, Great Falls, Mont.

Additional fine art offerings will include paintings and sculpture by: Afsary, Baumann, Beeler, Benton, Bodily, Coleman, Crowley, De Yong, Dye, Fellows, Fery, Gollings, Hallmark, Hampton, Heikka, Houser, Jackson, Leigh, Long, Lougheed, McCarthy, Mieduch, Mignery, Morgan, Myrah, Norton, Phippen, Powell, Ralston, Remington, Rodriguez, Rungius, Russell, Schmid, Schwiering, Scriver, Seltzer, Sharp, Situ, Stavrowsky, Stefan, Thomas, Wieghorst, Young Hunter, Ziegler, dozens more!

Collectibles will include 70+ Navajo weavings, a Blackfoot man’s shirt and leggings, a 19th C. Crow mirror bag and a 19th C. Crow martingale. A 19th C. Chippewa beaded vest and breach cloth outfit will also be sold, along with over 100 other beaded items.
