Cakebread Designer Auction gaining fans in the Big Easy

NEW ORLEANS – On June 8 and 9, New Orleans Auction Galleries successfully premiered Cakebread Designer Auction, an independently branded auction series to be held several times per year. The new auction series offers an eclectic selection of antique, vintage, and contemporary art, furniture, jewelry, silver and home décor. Susan Krohn, CEO of New Orleans Auction Galleries, envisions the auction series as, “a great way to expand NOAG’s offerings and reach a new audience.” Krohn added, “We believe in approachable luxury,

and by creating a new brand, we can carry that mission further in some very new and exciting ways.”

The two-day auction featured five New Orleans interior designers who created vignettes using items in the auction to show how antique and contemporary pieces can be attractively mixed to produce a current look. “Rooms have layers and blending different styles gives a room character,” explains Lynn Bowker, one of NOAG’s showroom designers.

Each decorator presented their vignette during a well-attended evening preview reception held in NOAG’s main showroom. The featured interior designers included: Chet Pourciau of Chet Pourciau Design; Mary Lou Fewell of Shades of Blue Inc; Chad and Christina Graci of Graci Interiors; Jennifer Kelly of Designlab LLC; and Rivers Spencer of Rivers Spencer Interiors.

The next Cakebread Designer Auction will be held on October 26 and 27. To view the latest offerings or to learn about consigning, visit cakebreadauction.com.
