VANCOUVER, B.C. – The winter edition of the Retro Design & Antiques Fair returns to Vancouver’s Commercial Drive (considered one of Canada’s hippest and most colorful neighborhoods) Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. The 175 different vendors participating in this fun one-day fair make it unique to the city, guaranteeing a huge variety and sheer volume of antiques, memorabilia and funky retro collectibles – all in one place at one time.
Attendees can expect a wonderful selection of vintage and estate jewelry, mid-century Modernist decor, linens and textiles, old kitchen collectibles, period lighting and fixtures, retro glam accessories, collector dolls and toys, pop-culture classics, boho and shabby chic design, country antiques and collectibles, advertising and memorabilia, holiday collectibles, decorative pottery and glass, sterling silver and more.
As an added bonus, drop-in appraisals will be available all day on a first-come-first-served basis. Items should be small enough to carry, with a maximum of three items per person allowed and each verbal appraisal is $8, or three items for $20.
The appraisals will be conducted by Gale Pirie, an accredited member of the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group with many years of experience in valuing estate goods. She recently returned from a busy tour of western cities as an appraiser with the CBC’s “Canadian Antiques Roadshow,” and she’s bringing her knowledge and expertise to Vancouver’s Retro Design & Antiques Fair.
The Retro Design & Antiques Fair is held at the Croatian Cultural Centre, located at 3250 Commercial Drive at 16th Avenue in Vancouver, BC. Show hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; general admission is $5 at the door, and parking is free.
Future dates for 2013 Retro Design & Antiques Fairs are: June 23, Oct. 20, and Dec. 1. For more information, contact 21st Century Promotions at 604-980-3159 or visit www.21cpromotions.com.
