SoCal’s All-American Collector’s Show marks 40 years with 200 dealers

GLENDALE, Calif. – If you’re a treasure hunter, a fan of vintage toys and memorabilia, or a history buff, you likely found your way to the Los Angeles area Glendale Civic Auditorium to celebrate and enjoy the 40th anniversary of The All-American Collector’s Show. The weekend event acted as a magnet for some 200 dealers from all over the U.S. (as well as Sweden), to sell and trade tin wind-up toys, cast-iron toys, Disney memorabilia, dolls, Americana, arcade machines, movie memorabilia, vintage advertising and myriad “blasts from the past.” Read More +

Indy Ad Show adding Friday preview, dropping Sunday

More changes are coming to the Indy Antique Advertising Show beginning next year: a Friday afternoon preview/early buyers session followed by a one-day show on Saturday. In addition to country store and advertising slated to cross the block Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2011 by Showtime Auctions, the sale will also include barber shop, coin-op, gambling, folk art, toys, banks, Coca-Cola and other soda, gum, candy, firearms and gunpowder, tobacciana, coffee, salesmen’s samples, whiskey, breweriana, petroliana, automobilia, match safes and pedal cars. In a twist, the first day of the sale, Sept. 30, will be reserved for live bidding only, at the event in Ann Arbor, Mich.
