SANDWICH, Ill. — A new antiques and collectibles market has broken into the Sandwich, Ill., scene — The Sunday at Sandwich Antiques Show — and is being launched by a half dozen seasoned antiques dealers and show managers. Operating under the name Blue Antique Productions, they are creating some excitement among local shops and businesses that welcome the energy and experience this group brings.
Being home for three active antiques malls plus several independent shops, Sandwich has long been a preferred destination for collectors and designers. The new Sunday at Sandwich Antiques Show will bring an extra dimension to the thrill of the hunt and the
satisfaction in the find.
The new market and show is staged indoors and out at the historic Sandwich Fair Grounds, 1401 Suydam Road, Sandwich, Illinois, and will be held on the Second Sunday of each month excepting September. (The 2013 events will be held June 9, July 14, Aug. 11 and Oct. 13.)
Dealers from four states will bring fresh merchandise to the area with an expanded menu that includes antiques, collectibles, re-purposed items and garden fare. Flowers and plants will be offered by Redbud Farms. Food will be available from several vendors and parking is free. Admission is only $5 with children under 12, free. Hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday early buying is available. The market is held rain or shine. No pets are allowed.
