ROCHESTER, Minn. — Mention the words “Gold Rush,” and antique collectors know you are talking about one of the best antique markets in the country. Now in its 42nd year, the summer Gold Rush is being held August 15-17 at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds located at the junction of Highways 63, 52 and 14 in Rochester, Minnesota.
While shopping at Gold Rush, you will find an outstanding selection of antiques and collectibles to interest experienced and novice collectors, alike. The selection includes china, porcelain, pottery, glassware, Victorian glass, clocks, Red Wing, coins, jewelry, stoneware, banks, door stops, cork screws, children’s items (especially children’s dishes), children’s furniture, dolls, toys, holiday items, sewing items, prints, furniture, primitives, Americana, linens, textiles, vintage clothing, quilts, militaria, advertising memorabilia, political memorabilia, lamps, sporting collectibles, breweriana, country store, petroliana, tools, industrial antiques, repurposed antiques, post cards, autographs, old books, reference bookseller, artwork and more.
A special feature of this show is the appearance of renown bookseller Sonny Ideker from Roswell, Georgia, who specializes in rare and first edition books. His booth is set up in a library-style setting and is located in the Graham East Arena. Ideker offers a unique and interesting booth with a captivating selection of books for sale in one setting.
Food vendors are plentiful and will be serving up various favorites. Picnic tables are dispersed near the food concessions, and the lobby area next to Graham East has several tables and chairs for show attendees to relax.
Buildings are open Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Dealer set-up day is Friday, August 15, and the public is welcome to come and shop during the set-up day as well. Admission is free; it costs just $5 to park your car.
