SOLD: Lampwork paperweights

This selection of paperweights were featured in the October 10, 2015 Antiques, 20th Century Design, Decorative Arts Ceramics Auction, presented by Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates.

All of the paperweights featured here were created using the lampwork technique, which involves shaping pieces of colored glass from rods into shapes, which are then often transformed into fruit, vegetable, flower or insect shapes. This technique of paperweight construction dates back to the 16th century, according to the Illinois State Museum.
