Cased Tiffany sword may top out at $60k at firearm and Militaria sale

A unique grouping of vintage firearms will be sold with a number of important military antiques, Oct. 25-26, 2012 in Cincinnati. Highlighted in the sale will be a cased Tiffany sword presented to Lt. The Gateway collection of 19th and 20th century firearms, featuring the famous Bob Dalton Colt pistol, is up for auction Sept. 7-9, 2012 by Rock Island Auction Co. It joins several important private vintage firearm collections coming to auction at the same time. The Dalton pistol is the most culturally-histoic gun in the sale. William J. Kuehne baseball shaving mug could whip up $8,000

An Aug. 10-11 antique advertising auction features 130 occupational shaving mugs. A special baseball mug was once owned by baseball great William J. Kuehne. The striking mug features an image of a player sliding into home plate alongside the catcher, with a full baseball diamond and players in the distance. Between 1883 and 1892, Kuehne played infield positions for teams in Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Cincinnati; and he was featured on 11 Old Judge Tobacco cards. Kuehne’s shaving mug is expected to make $6,000-$8,000. Read More +
