LOS ANGELES — Heritage Square Museum is launching a new event for 2013 that features 19th century Victorian magic inside the Perry Mansion: Soirées Mystique – An Evening of Victorian Enchantment combines magic, mind-reading and mysticism to deliver the most unique experience around, for an intimate setting of only 30 individuals. Guests will be treated, in an authentic environment, to an enchanting evening of exceptional entertainment. The show will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 with performances at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Saturday, April 27 performance times will be announced in the coming weeks.
Victor Ian Élan, a19th century conjuror and clairvoyant, will take participants on a journey back in time when wealthy patrons would regularly invite magicians, mind-readers and mediums into their Victorian drawing rooms to amuse and amaze intimate gatherings of friends and invited guests. In those sophisticated, intimate surroundings, the parlor became the stage and the audiences, thoroughly enthralled and entertained, looked on in wonderment, mere inches from the show. Heritage Square audiences will witness demonstrations in 19th century conjuring, observe experiments in Victorian mind-reading and even participate in an authentic antebellum spirit séance show.
“Our new Victorian magic program demonstrates our commitment to delivering distinctive and entertaining time-period events at the museum,” said Jessica Maria Alicea-Covarrubias, executive director of Heritage Square Museum. “We look forward to our members and guests alike to enjoy this remarkable show.”
