Dear Editor,
I read your article in the Antique Trader issue of Jan. 9, 2013, in regards to eBay schemes targeting U.S. sellers.
The same thing happened to me — here in the U.S. I sold two items to an individual; she paid through PayPal. When she received the items she had buyer’s remorse and stopped payment on her credit card. I had to reimburse PayPal for the entire amount. She kept the items. Neither eBay nor PayPal were of any help.
I contacted the National Fraud Center; they put me in contact with the chief of police n the city where the buyer resides. The detective assigned to the issue contacted the buyer and informed her that what she did was against the law. She reimbursed me — quickly. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else in the U.S.
