Montblanc Freedom Series limited edition fountain pens writing up to $30,000 apiece

SAN FRANCISCO – Bonhams announces its sale of Fine Writing Instruments Dec. 19 in San Francisco, led by several Montblanc America’s Signatures for Freedom Series Limited Edition 50 Fountain Pens, in honor of former U.S. presidents James Madison (estimate $20,000-$30,000), George Washington ($20,000-$25,000) and John Adams ($18,000-$22,000).

Montblanc highlights continue in the sale with a rare Antoni Gaudi Limited Edition Fountain Pen ($15,000-$25,000), The Fortune Number 88 Limited Edition Fountain Pen ($15,000-$20,000) and a Helmut Newton 75th Anniversary Limited Edition 75 Fountain Pen & Chronograph Automatic White Gold Watch, created in honor of master photographer Helmut Newton ($15,000-$20,000).

Additionally on offer will be such Montblancs as an Art of Porcelain Limited Edition Ballpoint Pen, hand-painted with an equestrian motif – the only one of its kind ($12,000-$15,000), and a Greta Garbo Commemorative Limited Edition 100 Fountain Pen, paying tribute to one of Hollywood’s most glamorous and enduring stars, in solid 18 karat yellow gold, inlaid with mother-of-pearl ($10,000-$15,000).

Also noteworthy in the sale will be a coveted Pelikan Genji Maki-e Limited Edition 60 Fountain Pen Set ($10,000-$15,000), inspired by Japan’s oldest novel, “The Tale of Genji.”
