More than 7,000 firearms falling under the hammer Feb. 15-17

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — After shattering another industry sales record in 2012 at $47 million, Rock Island Auction Company is kicking off 2013 with a massive number of items and selling more than 7,000 firearms in one weekend at its inaugural Regional Firearms Auction to be held Feb. 15-17. More than 5,000 of the 7,000 firearms are classified as antique or curio and relic; there are nearly 2,000 sporting arms, more than 800 Colts, nearly 700 Winchesters and hundreds of military items.

Featured items include an engraved New Haven Arms Company Henry Lever Action Rifle, two factory engraved Winchester 1866 lever action rifles, a factory engraved Colt 1860 Army percussion revolver and many U.S. and German military arms.

Firearm manufactures include (but are not limited to) Winchester, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington, Browning, Marlin, Stevens, Mauser, Springfield Armory, Walther, Sharps, Parker Brothers and more.

The Regional Auction also includes weapons, ammunition, books, holsters, firearms parts and military uniforms. This auction will also include the Dr. Nelson collection of “dug-ups” and more.
