IRVINE, Calif. Carol Watson’s Orange Coast Auctions inaugural auction was held Sept. 3, 2011 at their new showroom in Irvine.
Bringing 646 registered bidders and a standing room only crowd, the one-day Live Auction consisted of 650 lots and had a 90 percent sell-thru rate. Bidders from as far away as New Zealand attended the auction, with several hundred online bidders participating as well as absentee and phone bidders.
Of special note was the sale of a presentation U.S. Model 1840 Engineer Officer’s sword with rattlesnake grip that realized $29,120, and the Engraved Like 1 of 1000 Winchester Model 1873 which brought $61,600.
