Bob Courtney Auctions’ Spring 2010 sale includes large selection of rare Herter Bros. furniture
MILLBURY, Mass – For more than 25 years, Bob Courtney has improved the collecting market with his keen eye for great, unusual, hard-to-find, antique items. On May 15, beginning at 10 a.m., Courtney will again dazzle the world at his spring auction and its an unprecedented collection of Herter Bros. merchandise.
The fine antique selection includes four signed pieces, a library table, a pair of huge pedestals, another single pedestal and an incredible credenza. There are several other important antique pieces with attributions noteworthy of the Herter Brother name including three tables, two matching pedestals and four cabinets.
Courtney has always been noted for his selection of antique lighting and this sale is no exception. From an 1840 candle chandelier with Gothic-influenced castings to several gas chandeliers, from pull down hall fixtures to electric three drop cupid sconces – the selection will appeal to all tastes and styles.
Bidding has never been easier. Now bids can be placed onsite, live over the internet at LiveAuctioneers.com, by absentee ballot or over the telephone.
Courtney said this auction represents the best antique collection he has ever gathered. The selection is varied, but every lot has one thing in common: Quality. From the largest selection of Herter Bros. he has ever collected to a fine array of stained glass windows, you are sure to experience the “W-O-W” factor.
The sale date coincides with the season-opening famous Brimfield Antiques Shows, giving all antiques aficionados one more reason to visit Massachusetts.
Courtney’s staff will accommodate Brimfield market clients by arranging viewing times outside the designated hours; contact the house to make a personal appointment. ?
