For tool collectors, Black Friday can mean many things, like cast iron! In this photo spread we present a selection of unusual multifunction tools and their recent prices. These would make perfect stocking stuffers for the collector on your list, but be careful – it will be difficult to keep the stocking pinned to the mantle.
Multitool pocket knife, made by A. FEIST & CO., Germany, featuring 21 blades with tweezers and toothpick plus moustache comb, triangular awl, scissors, saw, corkscrew, fingernail file and nail cleaner, sewing needle, screwdrivers and other sundry blades. Large blade is marked “A. FEIST & CO. SOLINGEN” on one side and “GERMANY” on reverse, mother-of-pearl handle, 3 1/4 inches long when closed, 1 inch wide, circa 19th century.

Kitchen multitool. Cast-iron tool serves as a combination trivet, meat tenderizer, stove-lid lifter, candleholder, copper pot bail-handle lifter and a bottle opener. Discovered at an Amish farm and estate sale in Lancaster County, Pa. Circa late 19th century, 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches by 5/8 inches thick.

Walton’s Thumb multitool sold by Abercrombie & Fitch. Marked as made by Hank Roberts, this was one of the first multi-tools offered, with tweezers, scissors, bottle opener, etc. Marked with serial number A17787, this stainless-steel tool comes complete with plaid bag and very good plus-condition box with A&F label.
