Wheaton Village in Millville, N.J., will formally change its name July 1, 2007, to Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center. “The name Wheaton Village simple doesn’t represent the true nature of what this institution is, or the many ways we serve our multiple audiences,” said Susan Gogan, Wheaton president. “While the name ‘Wheaton’ reflects essential elements of who we are as an institution, including the legacy of our founder, our core glass porgramming, and our established national and international identity, the word ‘Village’ causes considerable confusion.” Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center will incorporate the work of the Museum of Art Glass, the Down Jersey Folklife Center, the Creative Glass Center of America and the Craft Studios.
An open house to unveil the new name and logo will be held July 15. Visit www.wheatonvillage.org.
