INDIANAPOLIS – A Barovier Seguso Ferro vase sold for $12,500 at Dan Ripley’s Antique Helper auction on Sept. 23 devoted to Italian art glass. Prices do not include buyer’s premiums of 12.5 percent for floor bidders, 17.5 percent for telephone and absentee bidders and 22.5 percent for Internet bidders.Designed by Vittorio Zecchin, the blue vase featuring a standing female nude was originally presented at the 1934 Biennale in Venice. A Venini e C. fasce orizzontali vase designed by Fulvio Bianconi brought $22,000. This large, torso-shaped vase of clear glass with polychrome-banded decoration had been estimated between $10,000 and $15,000, and sold to an Italian telephone bidder.
